Metal Binder Jetting

Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, precisely manufactured – these characteristics only describe a fraction of the requirements that are placed on metallic components.

In order to meet these requirements, advanced analytical equipment, highly developed machines and well-founded know-how is needed.

In addition to the material, ink and process development tailored to your requirements, we offer comprehensive analyses of green and finished components to ensure that your prototype meets the high demands of the current and future industry.

Additive Manufacturing

The term additive describes the basic principle of all these processes: the layer-by-layer structure of the parts. Today, the term 3D printing has also become synonymous to additive manufacturing.

Due to our many years of experience, we can offer the complete product range from material development, process development, to the finished 3D-printed component.

No matter if material and process development or direct manufacturing of desired components from our standard materials – we have the know-how and the individual solutions for you.

Analytical Support

Flexural strength, chemistry, microstructure – these characteristics only describe a small part of qualities that are important for application-specific selection of materials.

It results in a portfolio of many analytical methods that takes important factors into account for evaluation and development.

Due to extensive knowledge in development and testing of ceramic and metal materials we can advise you during the selection process, carry out the development and production inhouse and provide testing to assure the quality of your material in order to gain scientifically solid, reproducible results.

Ceramic Coatings on Metal Parts

Electrical insulation and thermal insulation are hot topics in battery technology and electromobility.

Copper materials are a fundamental in electric motors, which will play an increasingly important role in the future. We have made good experiences with our coatings on copper and its alloys, here we could even achieve electrical insulations of over 800V.

The energy storage systems of the future must be able to store large amounts of energy in the smallest possible volume. In addition to electrical insulation, thermal insulation is also required here to prevent overheating of storage units. For such application scenarios, our thermally insulating coatings have immense advantages, as they ensure very high thermal insulation with low coating thickness and do not fail even at temperatures of 700°C

Metal 3D printing by Material Extrusion

Laser-based methods are very well established for 3D printing metal components. However, the machines are very expensive, the choice of raw materials is limited and in many cases the properties of the printed components do not correspond to what users want.

Material Extrusion (MEX) is the most cost-effective of all 3D printing processes. At WZR, we specialise in the route of processing pastes, a process that takes place at room temperature. We use commercial metal powders, mix them with our water-based binder system and can produce initial test bodies with small increasing the levels of freedom 3D printing of nearly all metals.

Your R&D service provider

Integrating new ideas into existing systems is our strength. We discuss your request together, develop ideas with you, show potential applications and various techniques such as binder jetting, material extrusion or screen printing.

We proceed scientifically, systematically and according to process-accompanying quality assurance measures in order to obtain comparable and reproducible results. We start with the selection of raw materials and span the spectrum from analysis to finished components.
